Re: HD Collections (What would you like to see)

Timesplitters Collection so i can retire my Ps2 four player multitap and play splitscreen wirelessly with DS3/Sixaxis.

Still have the guys round quite often for beers and a takeaway followed by a Timesplitters session the controller wires can be a pain.

Re: HD Collections (What would you like to see)

I'd personally prefer more new material myself than rehashes of old games.

Don't get me wrong I'm not against re-masters and I would upgrade some of my back catalogue, but they shouldn't be given the priority over the development of fresh new ideas.

As stressed sooooo many times on here before, smaller, private developers like Sanzaru Games (The Sly Collection), Bluepoint Games (God of War Collection, Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection and Metal Gear Solid HD Collection) and Ready At Dawn (God of War Collection V2) handle the HD collections so I don't see your point in not getting new material as well :Confused:

We've had 2 God of War Collections and there are is a new game in the works..

We've had a (albeit very poor) Silent Hill Collection AND a new game as well..

We've had a Sly Cooper Collection AND guess what? There is Sly 4 in the works as well..

And Tomb Raider Collection. New Tomb Rader coming soon.

And Team ICO Collection. The Last Guardian is coming.

Everyone wins. We still get new material (IP/sequel), and we still get HD Collections.

Believe what? The fact that developers have said that PS1 games are too dated to be given the HD treatment and would have to be built from the ground up?

Ok maybe all the PS1 HD games that are out are proof enough for you then...?

Or maybe this quote regarding Metal Gear Solid;

Yoshikazu Matsuhana, creative producer at Kojima Productions, has explained that the game is just too dated both in terms of graphics and gameplay to make the transition. Because the poly count is so low it would have to be re-worked rather than re-mastered.

How on Earth can you argue about a FACT!?

I can understand them releasing remastered versions to compliment a new release, both from a nostalgic viewpoint myself, and for introducing new-comers to the origins. I however never really paid that much attention to them so was unaware they sub'd this process out.

I read the OP's post as an indication of what he would like developers to focus on which is why I said I'd prefer the focus on establishing newer IP.  If I've taken it out of context then I'll withdraw my comment.

Re: HD Collections (What would you like to see)

SOCOM HD - This would be a game built like SOCOM 2 online but it could contain the single player campaign from both SOCOM 1 and SOCOM 2.

@ytevo79

Go look up broken sword HD on youtube youll see that it would be very easy to remake those games in HD

And where did i mention the first Metal Gear Solid. I didnt why bring that up? And by the way there is already a Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. Metal Gear Solid 1 despite its age was remade and recreated on the nintendo game cube via a full rebuild ie The Twin Snakes. Full recoding and rebuilding. Please explain why they remade a PS1 MGS1 game  for the gamecube. The same was done for resident evil 2.

If they did this with the cube cube they could do this with the PS3.

Re: HD Collections (What would you like to see)

I go for just 2 series.

- Timesplitters 1, 2, Future Perfect

- GTA - III, Vice City.

I know TS4 isn't going to be made but still a HD release for what seems like a death knell of the series would be a fitting tribute to one of my all time favourtie gaming series.

GTA I go with them two games simpley for the memory's they gave me. SA was good but III and Vice City for me were my personal favs due to atmosphere and story and soundtrack.
