I'm feed up with having to keep deleting things of my PS3 and auto update keep telling me I have no space so I've decided upgrade my 320gb Slim to 1tb.
I've just picked up one of these link to rip apart and use as an internal disc but don't wan't to have to re-download everything again.
So my question is whats the best way to keep all may data?
If I use the BackUp Utility to an External HDD will it backup everything from all user acounts? Games, Saves, Patches etc.
Or should I use the Data Transfer Utility and copy everything to my Fat that also has a 320gb HDD and then transfer it back to my Slim when the new HDD is in? Will this copy everything from all acounts? And does it delete everything when it transfers or would I end with my games and data on both consoles?
Also anyone know how long it will take to backup or transfer about 300gb?

There is no specifications on what the physical dimensions of the drive is internally it needs to be 10 x 7 x 0.9 cm (100mm x 70mm x 9mm).
Personally i would buy the correct internal drive rather than strip down an external drive i have just installed this Samsung drive recently for £95 it's now down to £85.

Hey DodgyDodge, a quick question for you!
When you took the drive apart, was the caddy still usable (ie did you have to break the case to get the drive out, or was it screwed together? The reason I ask, is at that price, it is a great price for a 1TB drive and if you get a functional usb caddy, which you can then put the old internal drive in, then you truly are onto a winner!
