Hi,

Am putting my PS3 60GB on ebay tomorrow as am getting a PS3 slim when they come out. So I just borrowed my dad external hard drive. It works on the PC fine as I just done a format on it. I heard that the PS3 can only read FAT32 hard drives or something like that but my Pc won't allow me to format it that that. It only gives me 2 options  exFAT or NTFS please help asap if possible.

Get Swissknife to format it to FAT32.

You'll have to google for a link to download Swissknife.

Not tried it but I just google'd Fat32 Formatter.

dude just use an sd card or memory stick and put it on you pc

Yeah, swissknife is the way to go.. I had the same problems when upgrading my 60gb with a 250gb HDD.. took bloody ages to backup and re-install after.. BTW.. Dont forget to sync your trophies before formatting the old HDD ( I do hope that you remember to do that before you sell it on!! )
