Help Please!

OK evening ppl, I am almost at my wits end with this reset pasword BS i need some help as ive been browsing forums and i cant really find the answers to the questions i need answered if and of you guys are able to help the please feel free too post.

 

Basically i bought a new PS3 during the time that PSN has been down.... my old one was playing up crashing in the middle of games and not reading discs so i thought id just replace it and used it as a trade in.... ((kind of begining to ask myself why ive put even more money into sonys pocket)) but anyway. Ive not been able to play any of my old gamesaves since PSN has been down as in almost every game when it loads it tells me i did not create the gamesave..... understandable and not a problem because clearly i have been unable to sync my new ps3 to my PSN account.

 

ANYWAY in the supposed glory days in which sony have enabled PSN again ive had all kinds of fun. I have used the create account ''using existing ID'' option.

 

ok so now all i SIMPLY want to do is.....CHANGE MY PSN PASSWORD!!!

 

I sign into PSN and it says i need to change my password as my old on is invalid....fine

 

click change password and all ive been getting for the past 24hours is ''as server error has occured''

 

Ive tried to send myself the link via email to change my password.....but i get no email

 

***** and i sposed to be doing.....

 

some ppl said wait you will get it........its sure not coming been 24hours already

 

some ppl have said its because im using a'' hotmail email''.....I dont see how this can be true because surely my email would just end up in spam/junk if microsoft were ''blocking'' it?

 

Does anyone else on here have an email account using hotmail that has been able to get back on? because im just a little bit mythed by this ''a server error has occured'' and the whole ''hotmail'' email thing?

 

Any repsone will be appriciated

 

I just want to play some black ops of maybe a lil bit of fifa or even be able to play a game using my game save data ive had to creat a stupid temporary ID just to post this thing as i cant even sign in the playstation website without some stupid 24 hour message coming up about an mail that isnt coming! 

 

someone pleae tell me where im going wrong

its been 56 hours now and still no frikin email.....sony dont even bother to pick up the phone this is a complete and utter ***** take

Sorry to hear your having such a problem :smileysad:

 

I also heard that Hotmail have temporarily put e-mails from Sony on hold.  I can only guess that this is down to the sheer volume of e-mails originating from Sony at the moment.

 

I think all you can do is wait it out as it has all gone a little mad at the moment.  This also seems to be the case with the Sony helpline, I'm guessing many users are in the same boat.

 

All you can do is keep trying & give it some patience whilst everything filters through.

Nope, they see you ringing and they just continue eating pizza for the hell of it. Getting angry will get you nowhere im afraid.

They sent a LOT of emails at one, you need to wait for yours to arrive, or maybe check your spam folder. Read the blog and they said that you may need to have the email sent again to you. Thisi s not SCEE's fault, it is actually their ISP's fault due to the massive amounts of data needing to be sent at once.

Ok i also had a similar problem to you, but instead of changing the whole PS3 console i only needed to replace the HDD, i was able to recover it back and change my password the day after the PSN came back.

Porbably because it's the same PS3 is still reconised it.

Anyway my friend (and i at the beginning) are also not recieving the emails, we tried to ring, but too much traffic.

From what i have seen you tend to get the error when you have tried to reset your password over 3 times within 24 hours, my friend left it for a whole 24 hours before he stopped getting the error.

So since you last tried you HAVE to wait 24 hours since the last time you tried because from what everyone else is saying that got through to Sony over the phone, is that your account gets temporarily frozen for 24 hours. (probably to ease off traffic).

So no email will be coming within 24 hours since you last tried.

My friend is still waiting for his email too, but this time since he has no error message anymore, he has only done it once and is waiting for it to get to him now.

The traffic should be far less now so i wouldn't imagin it being too long.

So BASICLY

If you get the error, your account is frozen from emails.
You have to wait 24 hours for the freeze to be removed.
Try again (you shouldn't get an error this time)
Then wait for the email.

It's a pain but it's all i know of what your going through mate i hope i'm not wrong, Good luck! :smileyhappy:

Ive had the past two days off of work too which has made it more fustrating because i could had hammered the PS3 before going back.....

anyways i am going to play some single player shizzle il leave it 24 hours and report back....if it works.....
