Help me clear my pile of shame?

[ Edited ]

Every night when I get home I sit staring at a shelf.

The shelf where I keep all my PS3 games.

I need your help in determining which games I should play / finish / plat first - based on ease of plat, quality and enjoyment factor.

Now, these are only the ones I have on physical media, don't get me started on the downloaded games I haven't even touched.

I've had a taste of all these at work, else I wouldn't have bought them. But I need to generate some excitement otherwise I might not get around to them anytime soon.

Here's the list:

Assassin's Creed
Assassin's Creed II
Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
Bioshock
Dead island
- Started to play but got sidetracked and haven't finished yet.
Duke Nukem Forever
Fallout: New Vegas
Lost via DOMUS -
Have a few trophies I think, but got stuck and haven't gone back (I loved the TV show, until Season 6 started)
Mass Effect 2
Prince Of Persia
- Finished but not quite platted.
Prince Of Persia: The Forgotten Sands
Prototype
Resident Evil 5
Resistance: Fall Of Man
Sega Mega Drive Collection
Singstar Vol 2, Chart Hits, ABBA
- Probably my most played title, but some of these trophies are difficult.
Spiderman 3
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
- Charted on Easy, not platted.
Uncharted: Among Thieves
- Up to Borneo Jungle, but Sully keeps getting himself killed!

Uncharted: Golden Abyss - Charted on Normal, currently playing through Hard, but stuck, haven't got back to it.

Any of the other ones without comments, I've barely put in my console.

Let me know which one/s you think I should go straight home and play tonight, please :smileyhappy:

Easy, don't bother playing the ones without trophies :smileytongue: Uncharted 1 might be a good place to start. Platinum is simple, it'll build up your confidence to do some of the more tough ones :smileywink: :smileytongue:

Plus Uncharted in every form is awesome.

Re: Help me clear my pile of shame?

lol, that's quite a list! I've got a few (PS+ being too generous - don't get me wrong, I don't want it to stop - has added to my backlog some), but nothing like that! You _must_ play through Bioshock - it's single-player only, and only around 15 hours, but is one of the stand-out games of the generation (and Bioshock 2 is also excellent, but copped a bit of negativity because it wasn't the original - just people being emotional though, the game itself is great). And if you're into going through the whole Assassin's Creed franchise (which it definitely looks like you are :smileywink:), then the story is important, and it never hurts to start with the first. Ignore the flags, though, and don't feel like you have to do everything, as they didn't have the design as tight in the first, and doing everything gets a little repetitive.

And there's no trophies to the original AC, but there's far more to gaming than trophies :smileywink:. Speaking of which, don't let the lack of trophies prevent you from playing Resistance:FoM. It's a great game, and more gritty than the over-the-topness we see in most shooters these days, with an original presentation as well :smileyhappy:.

I've suggested games partly from a chronological perspective here - there are more recent ones, like Mass Effect 2 and UC2 that are also excellent, and the AC series only gets better (which is why you should start at the start, it'd be harder going back than forward :smileywink:).

Re: Help me clear my pile of shame?

I can suggest you put Duke Nukem Forever at the bottom of your list - Don't be in any hurry to play that game.

How can anyone have loved Lost...?!

Re: Help me clear my pile of shame?

I would suggest sticking with Uncharted: Among Thieves. Even lowering the difficulty to the easiest setting so you can get through the part that you're stuck on. It's one of the most impressive games this generation, so keep on trying! Don't concentrate on just getting the plat - if you enjoy a game enough you'll keep playing for the platinum.

I've got a massive pile of shame too that I'm trying to play through. I recently started Assassin's Creed 2, I'm slowly working my way through it but have been distracted by Dungeon Defenders & some co-op in Borderlands.

Re: Help me clear my pile of shame?

I would definately go with the Uncharted series, Among Theives in particular. It's fun and enjoyable to play and is not too easy, but not too hard to platinum.
