Did you call support again to check out the thread from page six? If so what did support say to you about all this?

Please use plain text.

I am waiting for my brother to be back next week as it is his account.

He has spent a easter in the US with his kids.

Sony are stabbing their loyal family customers in the back - We have 3 PS3s and 3 PSPs all on the same IP address and all registered with Sony. Why can't we use them at the same time anymore?

Oh right.

I thought where you was sharing his psn stuff on your console and he no longer owns a PS3 and away from where his PSN stuff is being used, it would be you that needed to call them to check, and not your brother as it would be your account that could be closed down for game sharing? as it's you using the content on your ID. Your ID and account has nothing to do with your brother even if he has allowed you to use his content?

Well i can tell you right now, from page 6 ( 3rd post down ) that is game sharing. Ask a MOD?. If Sony tells you that it's NOT game sharing report them as they are incorrect in their advice.

Your Brother does not own a console ( you own all consoles ), your brothers account details have been on YOUR home owned consoles ( in which you was using his bought US PSN content ) while he was not in your home, and away from the PS3 console. IE ( game sharing )

He is meant to remove his active ID fom YOUR console whenever he left the home so you couldn't use his content as that would be classed as Game Sharing ( and not personal use ). Because he don't own the PS3 console that his account is active on. It is also a different country account ( US ) that is active on your console in ( UK ) even when he is back in US as you clearly pointed out that his content still worked on YOUR console in UK when he was back in US using his account?..

.IE..

" So why do I have Maximo and GOD HAND from the US store on my UK ps3 and it works?  (thanks to my brother who lives in the US but comes to visit me) " = 13-02-2012

I asked " But does the games from your brother still work on your UK console when your brother is back in US using his account? " = 13-04-2012

You replied " Yes " = 13-04-2012

( This is 100% Game Sharing  ) This isn't allowed by Sony. It's up to you what you do, put just pointing out this to you as you could loss ID's over doing it/

Sony did say that they could tell where the accounts are being used, but either way the above is game sharing.

registered at your home doesn't matter. It's NOT his PS3 console that his Bought PSN Content is being played on.

And where it's not his console he needs to deactivate his ID from the PS3's otherwise YOU ( like you pointed out today ) can still use his content when he is not there. That is Game Sharing.

I know what you are saying. I have done for a while but when sony support say anther thing to us what are people supose to think?

That's why he will get back to us as he though with him livivng/registerd here it was fine but you pointed out it is not.

He did live in the USA then but he is living here now since his marrage broke down.

All I am telling you is what I have been told.

I am playing it safe anyway and his account is only active whilst here.

Can we guys get back onto the subject laid down by the OP and away from accusing each other of game sharing?

Cheers.

Edit:  I'm not going to lay down the ins and out of what is and what isn't allowed as far as purchased content goes.  Just remember that giving your username and password to a complete stranger is a definite no no.  Having content on your machine which has been purchased by another account on the same console?  Thats fine, just remember that you only get 2 activations at any one time.
