I can see it now after committing a virtual War Crime the player is sent to an In-game Virtual International Criminal Tribunal in Hague and has to defend themselves with a QTE.

This would include TB :smileytongue:

Re: Here we go again, all about war games

"Mr Rossignol said there was plenty of evidence that gaming violence is "fully processed" as fantasy by gamers. Studies of soldiers on the front line in Iraq showed that being a gamer did not desensitise them to what they witnessed.

He added: "Perhaps what this research demonstrates is that the researchers misunderstand what games are, and how they are treated, intellectually, by the people who play them."

That entire article just contradicted itself in the last paragraph. So basically they have already come to the conclusion that most gamers aren't lunatics who lack morals. What was the point?

Re: Here we go again, all about war games

Are there any good Humour FPS games out there? :smileytongue: It would be funny if they made a funny Call of duty game with hitler in it, winston churchill, and all the other icons of WW1 & 2. :smileyvery-happy:

Re: Here we go again, all about war games

Just read the article.

"The study condemned the games for violating laws by letting players kill civilians, torture captives and wantonly destroy homes and buildings.

It said game makers should work harder to remind players about the real world limits on their actions."

Real world limits? Would those be the same ones that forces out in, for example, Iraq and Afghanistan have been limited by?

They're just games. That's all. They're not meant to be educating us, just entertaining us. Save the studies and condemnation for the people actually doing those things ... you know ... in real life.

By that logic, most game should be stopped

Time Splitters should be scrapped as stopping time is not in the 'real world limits'

Resistance has Chimera in, there not real

Game like Guitar Hero and Rockband makes everything think they are rockstars, should we get rid of them?

Re: Here we go again, all about war games

Lol well I would love to see there logic applied to some war movies. I guess the only people who will agree with this are the people who have no clue about games and probably never even played before. :smileytongue:

Re: Here we go again, all about war games

FarCry 2 wasn't even a war game was it? I find it quite funny that they didn't mention anything about friendly fire, is that acceptable now? To more than just the Americans.....
