An honest question, out of pure curiousity, and the fact I may be needing to get one soon.

How long has your Sony-exchanged refurb lasted you? Has yours lived up to expectations? Did it break instantly? Just outside of the 3-month warranty provided?

I only ask, as I don't want to go and give Sony more money at a later date.

My refurb lasted from July last year to October this year.

Dunno how the other one is doing as I sold it to CEX.

Got my first refurb, in June of this year, it's now end of November and yep, still going well. Just FYI - my orignal 60GB lasted just over 2 years and my refurb is also a 60GB

got my first ps3 month after launch that lasted 14 months, refurb still going fine since then

8 months for me then YLOD again ,got six months warranty on this one from sony, and if it pops again after that they will take that into consideration ? whatever that means?

Mine is seven months old, no problems so far and it gets a lot of use.  Things don't last forever and I know using it a lot only increases the chance of it breaking but it would be nice if there was something like Continuous Play to back me up if I have more problems.  The cost of a replacement is probably even good value considering how much I use it, but the annoyance of the fee, when you don't expect it is the main problem.

I've had 3 refurbs in the past 3 weeks. They've been nice and not charged me, though =D

Approaching 7 months,

Now when i got my refurb, i wasn't happy about the 3 month warranty and the call centre staff they wouldn't give me 12 months warranty. So i asked to speak to a supervisor and after a little chat they improved my warranty to 12 month and a promise that if this one broke from YLOD i'd get a new one instead of refurb, And i have all this in writing and signed by the supervisor lol

Edit: also i didn't pay for my refurb got it absolutely free !!!, On behalf of ChoicesUK & HSBC
