Hi,

I am having PS3 connected with a router and have already DMZ my IP for which i use on PS3....but still speed is not moving beyond 600kbps(as i checked in Connection Test Facilitiy on PS3).....But the problem is i am having a 5Mbps Connection as i am using a Corporate Bandwidth from my ISP......i don't think so there is a problem with ISP because when i use it my laptop i get around 5 Mbps on non peak hours......but the only difference is i use DAP(Download Acelerator Plus) from Speedbit.....which can splt the file in multiple threads and but them togeather when it is finished......I Just wanna ask .....Is the any application like DAP available for PS3 Also ????????

Who is your ISP? I'm with Orange and the speeds I get on my PS3 are shocking, just over 1MB a minute even with a wired connection. I've been meaning to give them a call this week just to double check the speed in my area, because obviously something's not right there.

Get a better ISP? Increase your speed with your current ISP?

Connect direct with wires to modem only if you have one.

Disconnect all other users on the router.

MAC address block them so they can't reconnect and start downloading again.

You could try enabling QoS (Quality of Service) on your router. This may improve your connection speed.

Increase Your Internet Speed By Other Tricks 

1: go to ur desktop 
2: right click on "My computer" 
3: den select "properties" 
4: den click on "HARDWARE" tab 
5: den click "Device manager" 
6: now u see a new window(Device manager window) 
7: look down now u can see "Ports(COM & LPT)" ...click on it 
8:den double click on "Communication Ports" 
9: after open u can see a "Communication Port properties".. 
10: now go the "Port Setting" 
11: and now change ur "Bits per second" to "128000". 
12: and "Flow control" change 2 "Hardware". 

apply and see the result.........!

check your internet speed using speed test sites like Ip-Details.com

unless you have something connected to your pc serial port, it makes no difference whatsoever.

How is any of this going to increase internet speed for the PS3? More to the point how is it speeding it up for anything??
