Hey guys,

after this maintainance there is a way to deactivate ps3 and psp systems via pc. Note that you can only deactivate all via pc once every 6 months via pc so be careful.

To do this,

Go to http://store.playstation.com/login.gvm and click on Manage Account

This will take you to the Sony Entertainment Network Account Page

Log in and click on account at the top

Now click on Devices and media and then click on the down arrow on game and click deactivate all

Read the message carefully and click OK

All PS3 and PSP devices for Game are now deactivated

Now run over to your PS3 or PSP and activate for game as normal

Job Done!

So this will deactivate my old 40GB that's in bits in the attic then?

yes it will, and the best thing NO SERIAL NUMBER needed, but you have to deactivate all and reactivate your current ps3, but remember once per 6 months.
