Dear Sony,
I would like to see a function implemented after you have finished rebuilding the PSN, which allows me to delete some of my accounts. As to your EULA I am not allowed to use false information when creating an account, so I cannot merely change my name and address to something that is false.
When the entire gawker database got hacked, kotaky, gizmodo, lifehacker etc., and the users information was made public, gawker decided to create the possibility to delete ones account. My opinion is that you should do the same.
You have lied to us, saying that you did not know what was going on. You told us that is was just some unplanned maintenance and it took you nine days, according to your FAQ, to inform us that you did in fact had an external intrusion.
I have no trust in your online services any longer and would really love to see this function. This function should also be made available to the users that have had their accounts banned, as you still keep all their personal information on your database, inclusing credit card data.
Thank you,
SaDistic

Regarless of whatever statements they made it would be good to have the ability to offboard yourself.

Give them a ring and ask them to delete your account.

Doesnt work like that, I do not think it is possible for them to completely remove your account and all its data.
what makes you think so?

I agree, they should delete all personally identifiable information from someone who got banned, They should request only necessary information from you, and give you a way to delete it.

though i think the majority of users will get on with life "as normal" when the psn is up and running, there will be users that will want to delete all information pertaining to them. sony need to make this as painless as possible.

Yep I agree, and I wont be deleting my info straight away, However I want the ability to do so in the future rather than letting them keep it forever which seems to be the case.
I just dont think I would trust them with my info if i stopped using their service.

I have one account which has been permabanned from psn due to dubious reasons. I did not have the oppertunity to delete my personal and creditcard information as I could not access my account.
My data may have been compromised this time. But when such an attack occurs again, they will still have access to my all my data.
Sony should ban people only from online gaming, not removing the ability to change and remove their personal data and removing the ability to download the items which they have paid for.
You are rebulding the PSN now, I hope the moderators and team leaders could pass on this information immediately so changes could be made.
