A picture has been submitted to us via an anonymous source showing the terrible practices GAME are stooping to; to claw in some last minute profits.

In what appears to be a desperate attempt to shift the back log of games cluttering up the storerooms of troubled retailer GAME, in the picture you can see that copies of Mass Effect 2 have had the '2' in their titles conveniently covered over by a price sticker - the low price of £18 to be exact and plonked on the number 1 slot of their chart games display.

Its pretty obvious what the intention is here and it is utterly disgusting. There are of course plenty of us who would recognise that box art to be of Mass Effect 2 and not the new release, but there are also many parents, friends, people not so in the know wanting to pick up Mass Effect 3 for a loved one. These people probably aren't even aware that GAME isn't even stocking Mass Effect 3. 

Overall, its a pretty disgusting underhanded tactic, and in my personal opinion, for pulling stunts like this, they deserve what is coming to them. 

What are your opinions of tactics like this? Do they boil your blood as much as they do ours here at GameGrin? 

We will update this post once we know exactly what branch this picture was taken at.

Hmm not a bad tactic. To some parents would ask the prive tag to be removed and they will se that its not the latest Mass Effect.

VERY clever tactic...from a marketing point of view to boost final sales anyway. As said above, a few people buying 'Mass Effect 3' in a rush for loved ones will get caught out by that!

Luckily the same people who would buy it by accident are very unlikely to open it so it can be refunded.

It is shocking but it might only happen in that one store.

i used to work for game aswell, and on my 1st day i put a sticker over a wii game as there was no where else to stick it. and i had a reet telling off. as i said i used to work there.

It'd be so unfortunate if it was a day before close (if they happen to close) or re-brand.
