One in didcot is still open. They told me today it is a store that makes money.
In the pre-owned bit they has mass effect 3 for 37.99 which I thought was a bit of a pee take.

Lucky in Coventry really, as far as I know, only 1 has shut out of 4.

but is their a need for 3 of them in one area?

Well, 2 yes, 3 no. Reason being, there were 3 located in the city centre, 2 Game and a Gamestation, all within a minutes walk from each other. Now, we have a Game and a Gamestation. the other that is open is on the outskirts of the city, at the Ricoh Arena, so i suppose there is justification to have that 1 open, but the 2 in the city centre, im not too sure, maybe only 1?

Re: Is Game Shop Closing In Your Area

Luton has a Game outside the Arndale centre and a Gamestation inside right nextdoor to HMV which is also struggling apparently, the thing that puzzles me is online sales are killing these stores according to the news but all the above sell games online and have done for a long while:mansurprised:go figure?are places like Play.com and Shopto struggling?

play and shopto dont have highstreet stores and to some other posts, the store closures have been done by the Admins, i think it came down to which stores rent was higher, whether it was worth the running costs etc. though we havent been told anything like that.

Traditionalists like myself like doing things the old fashioned way and browsing shelves physically
but even i have started buying stuff online and i think the sad truth is that major brands like HMV for example want to be around for much longer are going to have to start phasing out highstreet shops with the exeption of a few capital branches and concentrate more efforts into developing the online side of the buisness, its true that rent must be crippling these companys:mansad:i wonder what the rent for the Oxford street branch of HMV is and wether it balances itself out with the sales they make, tragic in any event no more rummaging thru the bargain bin:mansad:
