Re: Is Game Shop Closing In Your Area

Both of my nearest (Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich) are staying open, so I've been lucky!

Re: Is Game Shop Closing In Your Area

I've never bought from Game or Gamestation online, but if you do, do they come wrapped in the plastic cover thingy?

It would make a change from their awful 'policy' of the game not being sealed but still being classed as new.

Probably one of the reasons why it went bust.

i dont think thats it, yeah lots of people are downloading, but gaming is still a market on the grow, it has recently overtaken movies in terms of revenue. There are still millions of people who buy discs from stores.

I'd say one of their biggest problems is that they just had too many shops, espicially since they took over gamestation. Perhaps there was a clause when they took over that they weren't allowed to shut any shops down, i dont know.

Im sure a "GAME" branch is going to close near me, it's in birmingham in the local city center, sad the company has gone into administration but yep.. I've heard they have already closed 200 branches in the UK.

Not even close. Have you been into GAME over the last few years lol. There prices are a joke. Most of the time the new titles are between £42 - £45 where online stores sell for £35 - £39.99. Even Grainger Games stores sell new games for £38.

Re: Is Game Shop Closing In Your Area

5 stores will close near my location including Lincoln City, Hull City and Doncaster and my main store in Grimsby will close too. So they can go Bankrupt for all I care. All is not lost; I still have a Grainger Games and a Gamestation (same Company as Game) in my location, but I'll think I'll stick to the online markets like Play, Amazon and Shopto, cos' of better deals, promotions and a vast variety of new games.

The highstreet Gaming shops just seem to sell majority of Pre-owned titles, but I prefer New games.
