OP, there are 3DTV's available around the £400 now mark so you're more or less there. Despite the trend for 3DTV bashing mine is probably my fave gadget and I use the feature regularly.

If you want a new TV and you can afford it, then you might as well get a 3DTV.

One 3DTV was priced at £12,000 and it doesn't need glasses.  But where would I get that sort of money from? I only get payed minimum wage.

If we still have to wear glasses; then going 3D is not worth it. Most of the games that support the 3D feature look surprisingly average to say the least and your TV is pretty good as it is, so I would say, stick with it.

The current 3D TV's basically get one picture into one eye and another picture for the other eye, the "non glasses" 3D TV's do exactely the same thing just with different technology.

So why are "non glasses" 3d TV's "true 3D" and current trech "not true 3D TV?" if anything the current glasses tech TV's give better 3D than "non glsses" tech TV's.

Re: Is it worth changing my TV?

3D tv's will appeal to some and not to others. I was in B&Q the other day an din the retail park was a Curry's so took wife in to see the 3D tv's just to get a feel of what she thought and she loved it (just waiting for super bargain over xmas and might get one). It really is to each it's own. Family member picked a panny a while back and said it was really good, and the 2D - 3D conversion works well for depth but you don't get the pop-out you do with true 3D images.

My only reservations are that i already wear glasses so i'm doubling up, the current price though they are coming down and i'd need to get at least a 40" tv to warrant paying out for a new TV otherwise i'd go 2D but bigger. My last reservation is i'm aware that when all the family watch a 3D movie etc... we are all going to look like we're at a Roy Orbinson tribute concert.
