Hi all,
Perhaps it's just me, having taken a break from games for a while due to studying and exams while working during the week thus leaving almost no time for games - and when I do play it's usually a little game on my PC - but nothing seems to be so exciting at the moment. Take E3 as an example...
I have been a subscriber of the OPM (since it was OP2M) and strongly considering cancelling it as I hardly read it now-a-days - I think I would much prefer something like GamesTM or Edge which give a much broader content of features and articles.
Anyways, I was wondering if anyone thought the same or if anyone could spring some ideas of recent games really worth playing which I may have missed - last game I bought was Driver as a gift to myself for completing a set of exams back in October. Red Dead Redemption I think is next on my list. I was sooo close to purchasing Uncharted 3, I didn't as other things came up, but again, I can't say I've exactly regretted not playing it yet.

In exactly the same position as you. For the last year nearly, haven't gamed much and lost interest as I have no time. And if i was gaming it would be something with no depth like Fifa. I just think you go through phases and for me this is a phase in which I'm not as interested in games, but I hope to get out of it soon as it's really frustrating!

At this stage I expect a lot of devs are only working at half capacity on PS3 / 360. With the rest of their teams working on projects for Wii U and other next gen systems. I think that may have caused a little stagnation.
With that said I don't disagree, it's been boring lately. From Sony particularly. Starhawk really isn't that good, or inspired. I mean it is an okay game, not bad at all, but it's not Sony going all out to bring consumers a great product, as they were at the start of this generation with titles like Killzone 2, Uncharted, and Resistance.
Its a bit of both.
Dull and lacking any really decent games that stand out above the crowd. We've been in this summer games drought since last year and I can count on one hand the amount of launch titles I have bought this year. And they was only let downs/step backwards (Mass Effect 3, SSX and Max Payne 3 I'm looking at you!) to me 
I've enjoyed picking up and playing older games more, like The Force Unleashed 2, Dead Space 2, Bayonetta, Darksiders and Binary Domain to name a few, and even the HD Collections I've been playing are better then most of the games coming out these days. They don't make them like they used to I guess 
The rest of the year looks dull, Christmas looks dull with all the delays (and there'll be more to come yet)..
Its either play the yearly shovelware and hate gaming, or wait 2 - 4 years for the high value AAA games then its over in a matter of hours, or they only disappointed and you're back to square one again.
