I have had mine since the day it came out in UK i think it is Sept 07. i got on the day of release and mine is fine only thing that has happened was error with syncing trophies ETC where you change youyr password on the 2.53 firmware however that was my fault and easily solved. all good hasnt been replaced once.

Nope, mine is still going strong! Been reading about broken ones and was just interested to read about peoples 60GBs that HADN'T broken lol! Hope mine is ok, so far I have had it for 1 year and 9 months!

My 60gb (now 320gb - play tv recordings take up a lot of space, though the new hdd is quieter) works fine, touch wood!

I think the newer ones (80gb) arent as good, the cutbacks have effected certain things for example my mates 80g couldn't play a 4 split screen game on COD 4, but my 60gb played it fine.  Sorry to hear about your 60gb though!

I don't believe you, i think you just made that account up to come on here and Troll! There is nothing wrong with the PS3's and there is especially no inherent fault with the 60gb models!!!

Think of how many millions of 60gb PS3's have been sold and only a few have had any reports of a fault!!! Why is all these members only come here to say "my 60 GB PS3 broke", yeah right...... the other forums are that way >>>>>

Original 60GB still going strong. I play on it for hours and don't maintain it particulary well and it's in full working order still. I only expect to get 3 years or so from a console anyway before I look to replace it so hopefully when it eventually dies on me the newer models will be invincible.
