My first one died within 26 days of purchase on launch weekend. The replacement has been going strong ever since.

Launch day PS3 still goin strong.

If the problem is cos of a faulty batch, im wondering if all UK launch PS3s are from the same batch.

Mine quit on 9th Jan and got a refurb on 12th.

My Launch 60gb PS3 died on December 27th 2008.............had a great 3 days first the PS3 then my psp and finally my SKY HD box all knackered 

Pleased it is now 2009

My launch day 60gb console also going well,no problems.

Brought my 60gb in January 2008 but it was preowned and was about 10 months old because i checked the game data on the hard drive. Still going strong till this day, hopefully touchwood nothing goes wrong.

Only problem, sixaxis xontroller messed up and had a new one given bout 5 days ago.

how exactly when its only the 11th of jan...or did u mean dec or jan 08....mine died on the 8th and ive gotta wait til the 26th grrrrr

had my 60gb since launch day and not had any problems yet but im dreading the day it goes almost every1 i know has had thers replaced.
i didnt really play it alot in the 1st 12 month cos ther was no decent games but now im on it every day so mabey thats why it hasnt died yet who knows.
and i thought it was only the 360 that had a fatal flaw with the red ring of death

I bought mine at the beginning of June 2007 and it's working perfect at the moment. I use a low powered mini vacuum to clean the vents and it's on for around 20 hours a day, every day.

Original lasted 6 months, I then received a replacement refurb which lasted about 7months. My current refurb is about 2 months old and fine.

Both failed with the disc read error. Both failed within one week of each PES release being installed on the system.
