Issue with controller.

I recently got a new controller and I have been having issues with the connection. First off the controller will not start up the playstation. It will not connect to the PS3 unless the cable is connected and sometimes it will stay connected when removed from the cable and finally it keeps on disconnecting randomly, it doesn't seem to have a pattern, and yes it is at full charge.

I have the orignial controller and it has no problems with connectivity and I have reset the controller several times trying to get it to work.

Re: Issue with controller.

Is it a genuine Sony branded controller?

Re: Issue with controller.

When you say you've reset the controller, have you pushed in the little indented hole thingy on the underside of it, to the top-right of the sticker? If you've done that and it's still struggling, it's probably time to give the helpline a call. Either way, good luck :smileyhappy:.

Re: Issue with controller.

i used to get this issue sometimes, if resetting the controller doesn't work try going into the settings and changing the controller number and see if that works.
where did you get the controller from? some "genuine" ones from playasia had issues a few months back

Re: Issue with controller.

Make sure you don't have too many dongles plugged into the PS3.
Some times the dongles take up certain controller numbers.

Re: Issue with controller.

There is also the fact that their are still a few counterfeit Sony controllers still around, especially if you buy online.

They have the exact same packaging as the official Sony ones, but were produced at a "Ghost" factory in China.

Sony caught on what was happening and pretty much stopped it, but there are still some out there.

I mean to see the extent of this Chinese counterfeiting, have a look at this story about the 22 fake Apple Stores found in China.

Not just the Apple products, but the entire stores as well.

It's corruption at it's most blatant, and every manufacturer that has moved production to China is suffering the same fate to some extent or another.
