As the opposite to this, I got infamous with 2 free games thingy last year, read a bit about it and thought it would be the type of thing I'd love but I just didn't get it.
Same with the force unleashed, I love star wars and that type of game but it just didn't grab me.

Deus Ex

Kept seeing it on youtube and things like that and thought it looked awful. I thought no way will i buy that game and kind of moved on. Saw it online quite cheap one day and for some reason bought it.

Probably one of the best games ive played on ps3, i was hooked from start to finish, and then even bought the DLC (extra story) straight after.

Re: It's not my type of game....or is it?

Uncharted 2. Already missed the first one completely and just assumed it was aimed at kids with the treasure hunting. :smileyembarrassed: I saw it was still getting solid reviews from gamers about 6 months after release so I bought it quite cheap and was amazed how great was. Pretty much my favourite game this generation.

I also went back for the first one. :smileyhappy:

Mass Effect 2. Not normally into RPGs but a few friends talked highly of it. Saw it for a cheap price on amazon but then had second thoughts after ordering. I remember posting a thread on here and everybody was unanimous that I should keep the game and play. So glad I did. :smileyvery-happy: I'm still on the first playthrough but I love every moment of it.

Re: It's not my type of game....or is it?

One game that looked decent, graphically, but gameplay wise something i wouldnt touch with a barge pole was Flower. I saw it when it was on sale on the store for about £3, was bored so decided to buy it. It was definately something different and refreshing. Just got my housemates to try it (all lads), at first they thought i had lost the plot, but once they had a go, they were hooked.

One game that i feel the complete opposite about is Assassins Creed Revelations. Liked 1 (albeit repetitve), Loved 2, Loved Brotherhood (abit short, but still decent), but this just seems like a chore to play. I am going to have to force myself to complete it, just to complete Ezio's story and to continue Desmonds story in preparation for AC3, but it just lacks the spark that made AC2 and Brotherhood good.

Re: It's not my type of game....or is it?

I find games that have somehow slipped under my radar are great,  I think i somehow get saturated with all the yearly releases and demos.  I never have time to look at new ideas coming out.  Red dead redmption heard nothing about it and not a fan off the wild west but loved that game so much. Played borderlands demo and i hated it seen it for sale for two pounds. I bought it and it's a great game i thought i would never like.

Re: It's not my type of game....or is it?

After having picked it up ages ago as part of a 4 for £20 deal I've decided to give ratchet and clank: a crack in time a go.

I thought it would just be a bit of a daft kids game but it's fun at the moment (only about an hour in).
It has some fun platforming, looks gorgeous and is a nice break from all the shooting/stabbing I've been playing recently.

Heavy Rain.

Having played Farenheit I was sure I'd dislike it, but low and behold its became one of my favourite games!

On the other hand, Fallout NV. Thought I'd love it cause of my love of RPGS, but couldn't get into it whatsoever.
