Been thinking on this for ages i know we all have mics and some have cams for the chat on the PS3 but half of us dont want to use the cam so i was just thinking how about something like SKYPE where u can video call and just use ur mic instead of making video calls ..... basicly like confrence calling but just use mics to chat to multiple friends in one convosation so like a group confrence like u can add people in the chat but u can only txt not full on talk i know some people are annoyed with that but like i said just and idea ... would be nice if it did happen though !!!

It is indeed a fine idea friend. Unfortunately it's also a very old idea as many here have been begging Sony for Skype on the PS3 for donkeys.

Search the forum for it, you'll be swamped.

im thinking of it as not a in game chat just a general feature on the ps3 .. because i know alot of games use mics like battlefield and socom and other stuff so basicly it be a out of game feature

I know, many want it too and have since year dot.

Sadly I don't see it happening anytime soon especially given the new owners.

microsoft bought skype so i doubt its ever going to happen

either will never happen, or MS release it as an app on the store and charge a few quid for it, making money at of the competition
