It really isn't.
As for them stopping production of this model having anything to do with the fault, it really isn't. They stopped due to cost cutting because people were complaining the price points were too high.
Having fixed many MANY PS3's I can tell you it is an inherent design fault.

So it went again saturday night literally 30 seconds after i managed to get a sub 1.36 minute lap on GT5 Academy which i didn,t register for DOH!
anybody else not notice that or was it just me
anyway so i got longer than the laughable 3mth warranty Sony would have given me at a fraction of the cost,so i reflowed it again yesterday but i am seriously giving the slim version some thought now as these fattys are beyond a joke with the ylod problem
but i love the look and functionality of the 60gb version..........mmmm maybe a slim somehow frankensteined into a fatty case.........shuffles off to drawing board thoughtfully

No mate im on my 5th if i send this one of it will be 6
i only paid for 4 of them because the first one that went was still in warranty which Sony replaced after TWODAYS use crimbo 2007
perhaps that was on omen,anyway im still seriously outta pocket whatever way you look at it,for a console which when launched was still going to be relevant after 10 years according to the pre release spiel,shame the reliability can,t match that.
