Re: Losing the 'gaming' mojo

If it wasn't for Skyrim ( which I'm addicted to ) then I thnk I'd be giving the games a break too as there's nothing that whets my appetite. I tried Batman Arkham City/Asylum and thought they were completely overhyped. How people compare them to the Uncharted series on a technical and story driven level is beyond me ! If an LA Noire sequel came out then I'd be all over it, but unfortunately there's little in the way of originality lately. :/

Re: Losing the 'gaming' mojo

Im feeling a bit stale about games now, the odd seasonal on GT5 a couple of online matches of fifa then im bored as hell. I loved Skyrim and GTA IV LA Noire RDR an stuff but I look at all the new games being released and they all look a bit meh. Other than Sleeping Dogs GTA V and maybe fifa 13 I dont see me buying any other games this year. I remember when I used to preorder games looking forward to playing them but not anymore

Just as a matter of interest, how old are you members that are feeling a tad underwhelmed with the gaming scene, and how many years have you been gaming ?

Yep...

I had that problem lol look at my thread from 2009!!

http://community.eu.playstation.com/t5/PlayStation-3-Games/Lost-the-love-for-gaming/m-p/7046287#M104...

I've had it again too recently, split up from my x after 5 years. When we together I used to enjoy every spare minute I got for gaming but now I just look at my PS3 and Vita...

It's like..they are both there...but I can play them when I want now....I dunno.....my routines gone now.

Got 166 downloaded games from PSN (alot from +) and about 20 on my shelf.....and I just can't be bothered playing!

Funnily enough whenever my missus is at home I want to play games when she isn't and I'm home alone I don't.

I can't quite work out why.  I mean when I have more time to do so, my mind just wont let me.  When I have little time to play games I want to play more.

Perhaps we instinctively like being restricted somewhat or maybe we are just social creatures who like to play single player games only when there is someone present in the house.  When I was younger this wasn't a problem.

I game happily for many many hours as long as the missus is in, don't even care if she is watching or not.  Which makes the PlayStation Vita a great device, so she can watch her TOWIE whilst I continue playing.

When she isn't in, I prefer just sitting back and watching a Bluray.

17 years old and probably about 10 years. I think the quality of games also plays a factor in my disinterest, as well as the day one DLC, naff endings and lack of multiplayer support!

Hmmm it's quite gutting having a lack of interest in it - though maybe we should use it as an opportunity to do something more constructive ?

Re: Losing the 'gaming' mojo

when I see generic games being churned out for the sake of it, cos the devs like to raise some cash, I get dis-interested. I am always on the look out for some epic game that would immerse me for hours, but games like Saints Row 3rd, Uncharted 3, GTA IV that where meant to be something special ended up being a copy of the past sequel that resulted in tasteless rubbish; O.K. These are good games; but I get to the point where I'm beginning to know their style and the game itself starts being uniformed (where the devs stick to the same style of gameplay and are frightened of any changes imposed on it) The new I.Ps seem to catch my attention more than the cash cow regime of games like GTA, Uncharted, Saints Row, etc. If the devs of these companies  what people interested in these repeated games; they'll have to chnge the concept a little or look at the game from another angle e.g. like what CD did for Tomb Raider.

Re: Losing the 'gaming' mojo

Loosing the mojo sucks I constanly loose mine for a couple of months then suddenly get it back and completely blitz a game then its gone again.

Few weeks ago I got my mojo back suddenly so decided to play through all the mass effect games I finished them all just over a week and then bam I couldn't be bothered with any again. It suuuucks!!

Re: Losing the 'gaming' mojo

I get this too every now and again. I'll tend to just not play my PS3 for a week or to and then something will trigger a intrest in a game and I'll be back on it for a while.
