Re: Losing the 'gaming' mojo

If I ever feel like I want a game to be over with quickly, it's a sure sign that I have been gaming a little too much, or maybe that the game is not as good as it should be.

With the maturity thing that someone has mentioned, personally while I do like a good 'mature' story in games, I also like to play a game with a bit of a silly story to keep gaming fun. Take LittleBigPlanet 1 & 2 for example,  both have bit of a silly story, but they are really still fun to play.

I've unfortunately been recycling three of my games over and over again for the last few months, and it's making me really crave something new. I don't want to get sick of the games I have.

I've recently started God of War III on Titan mode, which to be honest is a real graft and I got so angry with it last night I had to turn it off in a rage. Sometimes it's my lack of patience with certain games that puts me off gaming for a while, which isn't a good thing!

Enjoyed LBP1/2 as well, mainly because it was a breath of fresh air in the platform genre. I don't mind a more fun approach, but alot of games that do take themselves seriously feature really shallow/cliche storylines that cannot hold my interest at all.

Hehe! I have been thinking of revisiting this too! Might give it a go later, looking for a distraction since getting the plat for Skyrim, was gonna buy Dragon's Dogma, but money is real tight and Amazon whacked the price up a notch! Will wait now....

Maybe I'll go back to Valkyria Chronicles as well....[looks around for gaming mojo....]

Re: Losing the 'gaming' mojo

I get this as well sometimes but oddly i don't remeber ever having this back in the ps2 days.  I guess back then if the game you released then wasn't good then your game failed.  There was none of this releasing partly finished games and patching it later.  Also back then there was more of a variety of games as opposed to all the companies trying to capitalise on one genre.  I used to play an fps, rpg, racing games, third person and flight sims. This generation it feels like if i don't play a fps or third person shooter i don't play anything.  There is maybe one or two games a year that meets this exception.

I also think friends can affect this as well i only ever get invites for cod or bf3.  It seems like no matter how much i pester them to play something else they won't abandon these games.
