Hi,

I am having problems watching movies on Lovefilm using the PS3, wired into my broadband router. The film frequently freezes the PS3 and requires a restart of the PS3. The BBC I-player  works fine.

I am in the UK using  Talk Talk as my ISP and am able to watch films and streaming events without a problem on a wireless laptop

Is anyone else having this problem?

No all fine here

What is you internet speed.

2 to 3mb download is recomended

Also if trying to wacth on PS3 make sure the PC/Laptop is not downloading

Edit Ps3 does not have HD yet

Hi there

I have the exact same problem, and its been going on since March.  Let me give you a run down.

I get constant freezes when watching LoveFilm via the PS3. Even on the normal quality setting.  Sometimes the application wont respond for a good couple of minutes when it does freeze for any command.  I can watch iPlayer HD and Netflix X-high/HD no probs via the Ps3, And Lovefilm works perfectly via My Sony Bravia TV.

I am also with TalkTalk, with a connection of 14.9Mbps via PS3 Speedtest and 16Mbps via Talktalks. (Nat Type 2)

I have emailed Lovefilm alot abbout this and got nowhere, just the standard reply of its your speed or settinga etc.

Now I am wondering if this is a TalkTalk problem, as On their forums many have a problem with their iPlayer, but no mention of lovefilm.  I gave up this endevour because I am now using Neflix via the PS3 and Lovefilm via the TV.

Good luck if persuing it as i hurt my head too many times banging it on the table.

Sounds like a Talk talk problem. just been talking to my inlaws and that is why they left talk talk as they had the same problem straming to consoles.

It was fine for the TV and PC but not consoles.

I thought they were still with talk talk they have gone to Plus net or somthing and it is all fine.

all i can say is what Crusty says,that it sounds like a TalkTalk problem,and my mum had problems with TalkTalk so she left them(although she has not got a PS3 )

I have SKY Broadband and i watched 2001 A Space Odyssey the day before yesterday on my PS3 through Lovefilm which is a 2hr+ film,and it was fine,didn't stop to stream or anything no problems

Its weird though, because when it freezes for me, one would assume its buffering data, but the router lights dont blink at all,  intil about 5 seconds before it unfreezes itself, which the router lights then go beserk

I sometimes get this when watching netflix. When my speed was about 4mb it happened now and again i figured it's when your speed drops below 2mb for a very short period of time. I upgraded to 40mb and it rarely happens now. I think this is down to when the app crashes sometimes but it's pointless talking to lovefilm or your isp as they will always deny the problem.
