Commander Shepard would break out his old PS11 from when he was a kid and relive the time when he didn't hold the fate of the galaxy in his hands. He would replace it with a controller (holographic, of course).
The reason he's waste the day away with video games is that it requires no movement, because who wants to get up and move around when every other day is intense reaper combat
Level 3
Living as a human Guinea Pig for Aperture Science, John Doe (Codenamed Shepherd) had been unknowingly participating in what could only be referred to as "Project X".
The test: To see the effects on subjects living within a Virtual Reality world for a prolonged amount of time, in Aperture Science' very own Animus.
Upon awaking, John and the other test subjects realised something was up. They weren't in Space, fighting Aliens and destroying Starships. They were in fact deep underground!
Now, John must spend his unexpected day off by escaping the labs in an attempt to rediscover his true identity!
Level 4
On Shepard’s day off he trains, just like he does during every free moment.

Trains until his soul aches and his muscles feel like lead.

Trains to be sure, sure that when the day comes there will be one victor,
