Microsofts Xbox Live Accidently Advertising Playstation 3 Feature

The recently released Xbox 360 game Metal Gear Solid HD was advertised on the Xbox 360 dashboard. However playing the trailer advertsied by Microsofts Xbox live  right of the dashboard within seconds a Playstation 3 Trophy Messase is shown on the trailer for an advertisement for the Xbox 360 product. Microsoft advertised a Playstation 3 Feature which will confuse customers thinking trophys can be unlocked on the Xbox 360 version. This is embarasing as the Xbox 360 version of this game does not offer trophys which is a feature unique to the Playstation 3 version. This will confuse customers of the Xbox 360 brand who see the trailer assuming trophys are unlockable.

Youd think Microsoft would of noticed this and corrected it before the trailer was ever uploaded onto the Xbox Live Market Place but sadly this isnt the case.

And yet they still showed a you have unlocked a trophy message on the video. You do realise there are people out there who will automaticly assume that trophys can be unlocked on the Xbox 360 and who automaticly trust microsoft to use the right footage. Just saying

Ignore him gaz, he's just trying to act hard behind his computer screen like the rest of his kind that lack manners.

Just like people here believe anything that Sony says, I'm sure there are the same types for xbox. Although they probably would have thought it was related to an acheivement in my opinion.

Re: Microsofts Xbox Live Accidently Advertising Playstation 3 Feature

It's just a generic trailer that's used for both consoles, it shows parts of Xbox and other parts PlayStation. Adverts have being doing that for years, cos' the last time I checked Metal Gear Solid is multi-platform. It'll be weird if they'd just shown footage for just one console.

The views expressed within this post features my own perspective opinion and If you want to raise concerns about it, message me and I'll do my best to rectify my mistakes.

Thank You

No one has suggested Xbox Users are dumb. What was suggested is that people would easily confuse the trophy message for an actuall trophy availible in the game.

When trust is placed in a company such as Microsoft you would expect them to use the correct gameplay footage and not show the competitions footage including a trophy message showing up which is a unique feature to the PS3.

The last thing Microsoft want is for people to access that trailer right of the dashboard and then see a PS3 trophy message shoot up on a brand that has nothing to do with them and is there competition. Im sure Sony will be smiling over the fact that trailer was advertised right on Microsofts dashboard and clearly showed a PS3's trophy unlocked message.

Mcneilo i respect your oppinion and thankyou for taking time to reply to my posts. it is clear you and i have started on the wrong foot so if your willing to get along i am to.
