My PS3 Has Died.

[ Edited ]

OK my ps3 turned off when i was playing fnr4, i turned it back on and it lasts about 10 seconds then turns off again.

Its got that red/yellow light going on.

First thing i looked up on the internet and found continuous play... well it seems they should change the name to "You cant play anymore" because they wont help me.

I then phoned sony and some rudeboi from london was on the other end of the phone i told him what was wrong and he was thick as a brick he asked my home phone number 3 times and how to spell my last name twice after me telling him about 5 minutes later he'd ask the same question again so i actually said could i speak to somebody else and he hung up on me.

When i called back i got through to some other london boy but he was switched on and just told me straight i have to pay £145 for a replacement or my PS3 sits here like a brick.

First thing i've done is emailed watchdog so sony's bad customer service can be acknoledged by somebody who acts on these tool's.

Basicly i have paid £350 for a playstation that lasted 1 year and 2 months (conveniantly for the 1 year warranty).

Sony i will never buy a product that has your logo on it again.

It was a 60gb launch model by the way.

Wanna join the "If my PS3 dies again im buying an xbox 360" club....I think theres only 1 member at the moment though lol

In all seriousness that £145 charge sucks. Surely it doesnt cost that much to fix...

Re: My PS3 Has Died.

Its such a pi55 take, i feel sorry for the people that cannot afford to pay out £145 every time this £400+ console breaks.

I would have to join the dark side and XBOX it.

Re: My PS3 Has Died.

To be honest i can see the funny side but right now im just annoyed.

I am not paying to get it fixed i can not afford the £145 but what i no for sure is everytime i see the word "sony" on a product i will know not to purchase it. Not because it might be as unreliable as a PS3 but because the customer service is non existant i dont like talking to london rudeboy's and sony really have not helped me when i needed them.

My brother has an xbox 360 so looks like we are hooking it up to my huge tv now, ps3 + sony > goodbye.

Re: My PS3 Has Died.

He's e-mailed Watchdog - Sony are calling their lawyers now!!

Just sounds like you were rude to the poor schmuk who had to deal with you on the phone. Better to ask how to spell your name three times than to spell it wrong. It has been said on numerous occasions on these forums and from personal experience working in an IT support environment that you feel much more inclined to help somebody if they are pleasant to you and answer the questions without being rude, no matter how frustrated they are. It is perfectly possible to explain how pi$$ed off you are without resorting to rudeness.

Good manners cost nothing and can make the differenc between good customer service and bad customer service.

Re: My PS3 Has Died.

I think it depends on who you get on the other end of the line. My freinds ps3 stopped working (bluray drive). He was 3 months out of warranty but they still sent him a refurb. This was only last week.

Re: My PS3 Has Died.

i really hope that there is still more to the word SONY than just a big brand name & that QUALITY has not become something of the past.
