Switched off as normal on Tuesday night come to play last night and no picture through HDMI or AV, I do have sound through both inputs and tried on 2 full HD Tv's anybody else come across this.My slim is about 6 weeks old....

Seems like it has lost signal from the HDMI - have you tried holding down the power button when you turn it on? I think that should make it find signal again. Worth a try.

Have you tried another HDMI cable? If not try that if that dose not work do a reset. To do a reset when the PS3 is in standby mode press and hold the power button until you hear 2 beeps. This will reset the display settings. It should then show a message on screen saying a HDMI cable has been detected just follow the on screen instructions.

dont even waste your time trying to fix it, take it back as faulty, after 1 year sony wont even give a stuff about it so if it dont work right take it back

Have you unplugged it at all recently and plugged it into a different TV? Maybe your electric went off or something and caused it to lose signal or something?

I'm guessing that your PS3 somehow got set up for a standard def tv.  This would usually be changed in the menu settings.

Using Ocelots reset procedure makes the PS3 automatically adjust it's settings to the tv it's currently connected to.

It doesn't sound like your PS3 is suffering from any problem.

Seems strange that it just randomly happened, but I agree, doubt it is a major problem. Lots of peeps have had a random thing with controllers losing sync as well recently, maybe its related.
