i got my 60GB at midnight on the 23rd 2007 (wife wasnt happy taking me to get it as it was her birthday!) although it was stolen in 2008 i did get a new 60GB to replace it, though its now a rather full 320GB!

Oh yeah of course. Today was the day!

So for those who bought on launch day, tell us your stories.

I bought mine from the Virgin Megastore on prince's Street in Edinburgh. The shop opened at 6am to sell them.

I bought the console with MotorStorm and Resistance. I also picked up Burnout Dominator which came out on that day too.

After taking my PS3 back home I proceeded to update the firmware, started adding my clan buddies who had attended a midnight launch in other places and downloaded Tekken Dark Resurrection.

You guys make me laugh. Has it really been that long mine is only 3 1/2 although its not the original i got that gift of YLOD, annoyance!!!! but i got a refurbished 60g after paying sony, so yeah give me another half a year and theoretically mine is 4

What on release day? Nothing has changed then

Unfortuneaty I wasn't stupid enough able to afford the price tag so I didn't join the party until about a year later, or when the 40GB's and Uncharted was released

Yeah there was a firmware update waiting for us Europeans. It was the one that enabled background downloads.
