PlayStation®3 General Discussion

Coincidently my Xbox failed (for the 3rd time) at the same time my Xbox Live subscription ran out, and figured it was time to come back to Playstation...  (the Xbox exclusives are looking tired and boring, whilst the PS3 exclusives are where I want to be, after seeing a mates PS3).

Anyway, I found it REALLY hard to find anywhere that had stock.  120GB seems rarer than rockinghorse poo, and the 250GB is scarce too, I did find one in my local Argos (and the 3yr warranty for £30 wasa good deal too).

Picked up LittleBigPlanet, Uncharted 1 & 2, Killzone2 and Heavy Rain.

That lot should keep me busy for a while, and from what can tell are very varied.  Is there anything else I need to keep an eye out cheap on ebay?

I would also like some PSN recommendations.

I have played The Last Guy (and loved it), so i'm gonna get that, along with Fat Princess which was alot of fun and SuperStardust.  (got a £20 PSN card, may have to add some more funds).

I also really like Home.  Suprised how good it is, coming from Xboxland, the Buzz and RedBull spaces are really good fun. and FREE (something I haven' t been used to in XboxLand).

Welcome. A few PSN games I'd suggest taking a look at are Trine, Shatter, Super Stardust HD and Wipeout HD. Had a lot of fun with those.

Ninja gaiden sigma 1+2 are brilliant so is infamous and mirrors edge, all of those games i mentioned are under or around £15 aswell.

EDIT: forgot to add the god of war collection is a must in my opinion if you didnt play gow 1+2 on the ps2.

Welcome to PS3

Definately take a look at some of the PSN store games. Super Stardust HD, WipeOut HD, Hustle Kings, the PixelJunk games.

If you're into racers, you can't go wrong with games such as Burnout, Supercar Challenge and GT5 Prologue.

Games I have seen cheap recently on Amazon are Mirrors Edge, LittleBigPlanet, Dead Space, Fallout 3, Infamous, Ratchet and Clank: Crack in time. All really good games to have a look at. Also, head down to GAME when you get the chance, as they have a sale on at the moment. Picked up some good bargins myself.

I too am an XBOX convertee, mainly because the PS3 looked more classy.

As for games, it depends on what you like. You could buy Assassins Creed 2 on Ebay for a cheap price. I brought Metal Gear Solid 4 for £10!

Many thanks.  There is a huge amount of bargain quality PS3 exclusives for peanuts on ebay...  Like a kid in a candyshop at the moment.

Just been shopping on ebay and Amazon Marketplace and Also picked up Ratchet and Clank for £8.70, MGS4 for £7.50 and Resistance 1&2 combined for £12.60

Those are some cracking prices for those games. Which Ratchet and Clank did you pick up?

Welcome, and you made some excellent choices with regards to first games.

With regards to PSN games:

- All PixelJunk games, except PixelJunk Racers (you can play these co-op)

- Zombie Apocalypse (has co-op)

- Super Stardust HD (this is THE arcade game, imho. Also has co-op)

- Trine (It's very beautiful and has really lovely music. If you like LBP, you may like this)

- Savage Moon (if you like Tower Defence games (this is probably the best one I've seen, even better than the flashgame Onslaught))

- Switchball (very cool game, which has online co-op, albeit only a few levels). Many people seem to hate this, though. I don't know why.

I would recommend you also keep a lookout for the Ratchet & Clank games (Tools of Destruction, Query for Booty, A Crack in Time).
