My mate asked me a similar question the other day.

I told him it depends what you want it for.....if you want a 'gaming' machine then I'd say Xbox.  I'm not sure why but it just seems to work better as a gaming platform.

However, wih Lovefilm, On Demand TV (BBC iPlayer etc), the BluRay player and the superb MusicVid thing I wouldn't like to be without the PS.

As has already been suggested....keep them both.  Best of both worlds then.

LOL. There both pretty much equal in power, and there both " gaming machines ". Just because you can watch " Catch-up TV ", listen to Music and watch Blu-Ray films does not make the PS3 no diffrent to Xbox.

Why do people think this ?

Erm... that's because you can listen to music, watch blu-ray movies and play games with stunning graphics. I would consider the PS3 to be a multimedia device, rather than a plain gaming machine.

XBOX just have the great online mode and console accessories: e.g Kinect; so other than that you really aren't missing much.

Thanks for all the replies people :-)

Yeah I just ordered Uncharted 1, will play through that first and then get 2. PlayStation came today and I am quite loving it hehe. Been playing Killzone 3 and its epic.

Also again, instead of starting a new thread, I have played MGS 1 on ps1 and MGS2 on pc but to be fair im not to genned up on the story and there seems to be loads of them out lol. The question is do you need to know whats happening in the other games to enjoy MGS4? My mate has the game and said I can borrow it etc

cheers

I couldn't make any sense of MGS4 and was in the same position as you. My mates who played all the serioues loved it though.

There's a  HD collection thingy of previous PS2 MGS's (And the PSP one peace walker) coming out though so maybe play through that and then try MGS4.

Re: New to Playstation 3

Type in " Metal Gear Solid Wikia " in your google bar and click on the first one and it will take you to a site which will tell you everything metal gear related.

Would put up link but don't know how to.
