Next Gen Football Games... Where I think they should be heading!!!

Hi folks, I have a feeling this thread may go down well with some people, but I expect to get flamed by the PES and FIFA fans....

Well the PS3 is looking really powerful now with the likes of GT5:smileytongue: looking superb and Killzone on its way to being a slightly toned down (albeit violent) version of an interactive Disney Pizar movie. So why aren't the FIFA and PES dev's making their games in 1st person spec?

I could be done brilliantly and I have no problem being a single player and having to wait for the ball, games are usually designed to give the player the ost action it can so it would naturally make sense that in a 1st person footie game you will see more of the ball than the rest of AI on your team. You get to choose which player you want to be (Ronaldo everytime for me... ahem).

If that doesn't delight then I guess the camera view could very quickly zoom into the player you are passing too/select that's nearest the ball...

Any thoughts?

(PS. I expect a few people to say it can't be done, maybe that's because we haven't seen it done yet but there's an advert on TV for Nike or Reebok or somewhat looking through the eyes of a footballer and that is what made me think of this, it looks like it could be epic!)

Yeah, but thats as close as we'll get. The camera controls would be awful.

Motorstorm has already proved the camera issue can work, implement that into full panoramic view and the Dev's could do something special. Besides, this is time of the Next Gen consoles, they finally have the processing power to make this happen...

Imagine Mirrors Edge crossed with Be-A-Pro, the controls could work then!

Mate thats scary, me and my mates was having this same convo about a wekk ago about how different a footy game would be in First Person, theres an advert going on atm (cant remember exactly what brand, it might be nike) where its in first person and this guy is playing against Man U and gets taken down by Ronaldo, its kind of a montage of him gettin to the "top" so to speak, but thats the sort of thing that would give it the epic feel about the game, imagine it online!

*edit* clicky, gives u an idea

Thats the advert!!!

Seeing that makes this whole thread make perfect sense, maybe even the camera shake on sprinting!
