How about some method for retierving save data from the hard drive when your PS3 YLOD/dies on you. It could be done by using a temporary cloud. 

When you put the used HDD in your new slim instead of simply prompting you to reformat (losing all data) you also get an option to save and reformat. This would bypass all the security gubbins and let you save all the data to the cloud, the HDD would then be reformated, and then all the data from the cloud re-installed onto the HDD. All in one single uninteruptable action.

From reading this forum people losing all there saved data because of dead PS3 seems to be quite an issue, it would be nice if the boffins at Sony tried to think of a way around the problem.....probably never gonna happen though.

And if people are still asking for Cross Game Chat (Never. Ever. NEVER..gonna happen) then I want my PS3 to dispense cheese on toast out of the disc tray when I shout "HUNGRY!!!" at the top of my voice. If you're gonna make a suggestion thats in LaLa Land then at least be origional. Probably more chance of my toast idea happening than Partychat as well.

I agree with you but  Sony HAVE to ensure it supports voice input from Bluetooth & USB headsets and PlayStation Eye

If not... well then I'll sell my PS3 and buy an Xbox. I already have an Xbox, I'll just buy another one out of spite

Charging the controller whilst in standby would be a very useful addition ...For me anyway.

Not sure if its possible on ps3 - But i always used this feature when i used to play on the 360.

think ps4 might have usb 3.0 which can charge when the system is in stand by i can with my laptop when its in sleep

I did see a mains cable listed once on play.com to replace the original kettle lead on the Phat models that could do specifically that charging controllers etc without requiring the system to be on. 

Not sure if it was ever released fairly certain it was an official product listing was listed for a while a couple of years back. 

Couple of features i would like is a back up utility filter option saves only or filters including saves, game data, photos, videos etc toggle options and also a copy all saves option to USB stick or a tick/mark multiple option for deleting/saving also.

That would involve a hardware change. Nothing a mere FW update could fix. The USB ports would need to be active even in standby, so it wouldn't be standby, but I know what you mean and have sighed once or twice when I needed a controller charged but not been playing.
