I am having this problems with differents controllers, so the problem is from the PS3. When I press the PS button, in the menu (quit game, controller settings, turn of the system) i cant do nothing, i just can move up and down the options but it does not let me pick one the options. I just have to turn off the PS3 from the system. What can I do to fix this problem?

not heard of this b4 from reading this forum, but there are a few things u could try.
Reset controller with little button on back, then plug it in via usb to re join (whatever it's called) with PS3.
Or try a system restore, from system menu, and start over.
If they don't fix it call sony

Does this happen with more than one controller?

Yes, with any controller and with my rock band drums or any other instruement.

Have you got a PS3 Blu Ray remote control? If you have, press the ps button and turn it off.

No, i dont have a blue ray controller

The exact same thing has happened to one of my controllers. I posted about it a while ago but got no help on the matter. It only occurs with one controller though, my other works as it should do. This is very strange. Resetting the controller doesnt fix the problem.

D'you have any bluetooth appliances that you think could be interfering with it? I had an old headset for the PS3 when it first came out and it caused the Sixaxis to malfunction.
