at first game did freeze alot and now i did a format like everything (backed up my saves first )

but now it wont read any game or blu-ray and dvd's are working fine

well it appears it was the turn of my 60gb, backwards compatible, bringer of joy and happiness to die last night. Funny how its just after a firmware update??!!?? I wonder what date sony have set for all the original 60gb's to be dead by to gain more funds?? MW2 is stuck in the drive too, just to annoy me even more and prove to be the icing on the cake!

I updated the PS3 to firmware 3.30 a fews days ago.  At first everything was fine until yesterday when Fallout 3 crashed on me.  I couldn't exit the game using the on screen menu, and had no other option but to turn of the ps3 at the back.  When I turned it back on it refused to read any disc at all.  I have to eject and insert blu ray discs several times before it will read again...then 5 mins into the game it will freeze and go all screw, thus repeating this disk read error.

The internet browser crashes on me, and sometimes the icons do not appear, and just keep spinning around.  Seems to me that Sony have got there head stuck in this one big time.

Does anyone have any idea as to when Sony will release a patch to fix these problems????

Last night I went to load a disc, it loaded into the system fine but I wasn't able to browse/play it.
I tried other discs, both blu ray and DVD, same issue.
The only change I had made was updating to 3.30.

 Came back from a 18 hour flight. NO PS3 for more than a month. Turn on my PS3 and the message tells me that there is an update available. I ran the updated over the Internet connection, as soon as the download complete the screen goes blank. Left the system on the whole night thinking it might be working on the back end and the picture might come back on. Looked at it the next morning and still not picture. Restarted my PS3 no picture. The remote does not start either.  Called the Support services for Sony and they try to walk me thru a hard reset ( still not Picture ). Then I am told by Sony to send it in for repairs and pay $120 Plus shipping to get it exchanged for the slim or pay 140 plus shipping for get the one I have fixed. That is some BS before they release a firmware update they should really test it on all the different models of PS3. My PS3 is the fat 60GB model. And I really hope Sony is able to fix this

My PS3 pads will not connect to the console unless they are plugged into the console via the USB cable.  Everything was fine before the update.

My PS3 wouldn't boot and just remained Black on screen,

I followed the steps listed in the following steps and got it working.

I am having trouble getting the downloaded file onto the PS3 vis USB. The system keeps telling me the file is corrupt. What the heck am I meant to do?

Yes. Can no longer play music via UPnP protocol. Video work fine.
