Hello, Can anyone tell me why my connection is so bad when I play online?

I am constantly on a 2-3 Bar connection and ALWAYS lag on every online game that I own (especially Call Of Duty)

I've tried 3 different PS3 systems (60GB, 250GB and 160GB)

I've switched from TalkTalk to Virgin media (The 20mb Package)

I've bought 2 different routers and called up my service provider only to be told there is nothing they can do about it...

Is there a way that I can fix this?

Literally any help would be appreciated.

Ive tried this before and it did nothing... Might give it another shot though?

you swapped from one bad isp to another, it won't help, how far do live from you local exchange.

I have never had any problems with Virign.

Virigin is cable so it does not matter how far away from the exchange you are like ADSL.

What router and what modem are you using?

What other devices are conected to the router?

what speed are you actuly getting? www.speedtest.net

Its your ping rate mate. Ping is king when it comes to online gaming and not download speed. Your provider must be lying to you about nothing they can do as i have rang sky ( my provider )  and they sorted mine out when i said i do alot of online gaming.
