Re: PS3 Slim. Stood up or layed down?

I have all my PS3 slims laid down. The slim I have in the living room has had a nice clean/vacum today. :smileyhappy:

Re: PS3 Slim. Stood up or layed down?

well ive not had one peep out of it over night or this morning....really chuffed.

i havent ever cleaned mine to be honest. i do have a nice clean flat and i use to dust my ps3 etc. but i looked at it upside down everywhere. and it had dust lodged inside all those gaps around it and the front. i hooved it all as it was hard to get out.

the back vent i wiped it with tissue. didnt want to hoover the back vent incase it hoovered up parts lol.

i stood it up now on top of my tv unit rather than inside.

im not to sure if the cleaning has solved the fan noise or because its stood up. lol

Re: PS3 Slim. Stood up or layed down?

I heard somwhere that if stood up on it's side the heat from the hard drive goes straigt up through the right side vent which would make it cool much faster than having it laying flat because when flat the heat is blown all the way to the back of the system. Hope this helps.

Unless you have a stand, I wouldnt stand it vertically as it will topple over.

Re: PS3 Slim. Stood up or layed down?

I've always had my slim layed down, and its always made the cracking noise on shut off as well. I think its just the whole heat expand cold shrink deal. I just want to satnd mine up so i have extra room on my tv stand
