FCC deals with radio interference caused buy all electronics. All wifi devices have to go though them.
All Wifi devices need the antennas no matter inside or outside so all devices need to be registered.
Its nothing new the only reason websites have even paid attention to it is because of the smaller PS3.

The FCC document concerns a WLAN antenna for the CECH-4000 line of PS3 systems.
While the antenna itself doesn't appear to be particularly exciting, that model number holds more interest considering that the current PS3s are from the 2500 and 3000 series
With regards to the above why would the system need an WLAN antenna? Does this mean that in order to connect to the internet wirelessly you will need an antenna or will the console have wireless built in an this antenna is some sort of extra?
Why is the model number interesting? It has to be a 4000 series as its running on FW 4.00 now.
