yeah ive had numerous problems with virgins superhub and my ps3, the download speed for games off the psn store is great, but the speed that the web browser works at is rediculous, maybe its something to do with the hardware i dunno. you can increase the transfer date the superhub is giving by logging into it and changing the speed.

I've got the VM superhub and i can tell u the exact problem. changing the channel etc does help with speed. download the inSSIDer program to help u see congested channels so you can pick the best one. im on 11, but thats not the problem, it is infact a sticky ip address. if you go to http://192.168.0.1 put in your username and password should be admin & changeme unless you changed them. go to advanced settings then device you will see "lease time remaining" which is usually a week, every time this lease is up it will generate a new ip address for the hub, the only frigging way to stop this is to put the superhub into modem mode and use a seperate router, thus giving you a static ip address so it will be stable and not disconnect you from the hub ( if using wirelessly ) i have a technician out tomorrow for this exact problem and i will give him hell because VM know this problem exists but thinks people are to stupid to realise. thats why they give BS advice such as change channels etc . all i can say is im going to sky broadband if this doesnt get fixed. the sticky ip addresses is just so VM save money trudt me i know about this im a genius/nerd

Somebody tell me why did I cancel BT and get Virgin 30MB broadband...
When it got installed today, did a speed test and got 31mb...as the day as progressed the speed has got lower...
Signal strength is rather low and my PS3 & iPhone 4S don't even connect to it :'(.
The engineers said it will take time to get to full speed but for some reason I think that may not be the case.
I may have to cancel asap and go back to BT within the cancellation period or may be stuck with a problem for 18 months.
I've tried changing the channels, the frequency is 2.4GHz and wireless mode is Up to 144Mbps (best for wireless range)

Have you tried ringing Virgin?
I will ring them tomorrow if they are open and see...
My mate had problems today and aparently Virgin ackknowledged that the problem was on their side and sorted it.
I changed the wi-fi channel and it worked for a little while but back to not working again...

A very frustrating few hours.
I've even tried it all through wired. Still wont connect through PSN and I've tried three different PSN accounts so it's nothing to with Sony.
I'm going to ring them tomorrow. See what they can do. Not sure Ill be able to hold my temper if they keep telling to me to reset my hub....Are yiu sure it's not your PS3 Sir? Fi_iCK YOU VM CALL CENTRE CI_INT!
I've noticed that theor commuinty help forum are mysteriously running slower than 56k modem in the 90's on this issue.
What a load of total and utter horse *****. PSN should really put some presure on VM as this is affecting their customers.

Ok I have a solution...
I have been on the phone to VM. Told them I had done everything. The only thing they could suggest was putting the SuperHUB in modem mode and connect wired.
I did that that and it allowed the PSN to sign in running on about 10mb (I supposedly have 30mb) 10mb is enough to have a solid connection online anyway.
Obviously now my house has no wifi so Virgin are sending me out a dlink shhhhiiiittyyy router to plug into their shhhiiitttty "SUPER"hub.
I have just switch the hub out of modem mode and the ps3 has connected succesfully wirelessly, saying that it is currently sat right next to the hub. the speed it logged at during the PS3 internet test was 1.5mb useless for for online gaming really but I'll give it a go and see what happens.
Hopefully this dlink router will be a lot better.
Anyone searching for the VM customer services number to get their router here it is: 0845 454 1111
That number was unbelievably difficult to find surfice to say that after all this Virgin Media are a pile of shiiiiiiiiit!
