So A little while ago, just spontaneously, my PS3 decided it didn't want to read my PS1 games anymore, when i did before, and it did so perfectly.
It hasn't been dropped or kicked or punched or anything otherwise violent done to it. It simply stopped reading them one day. It's possible that an update did this, but i'm uncertain. I am also led to believe that there is a seperate laser that reads the DVD's, PS1 CD's and Blu-Ray Movies and PS3 games.
Is this correct, and if so, Is it possible that the laser is simply out of allignment and that i can have it repaired somewhere.... not official but that still will do a good and clean job without breaking anything else? It is no longer in warranty (I believe, i dont know precisely when it was purchased as my Father and Sister bought it as a gift while i was being treated in Hospital and i was a little.... lost on my perception of time back then).
Any help/guidance/assistance will be much appreciated.

Yeah. I've tried multiple different PS1 games. About 7 of them. And yes it reads PS3 games normally. It also reads Blu-Ray movies and regular DVD's properly. It seems to only be the PS1 games it does not read. I will call the support line tomorrow to see if i can get any help. from that.
