PS3 compatibility

Guys, I am new in this but I will start with a strike. I believe that every multi media company that plan to keep its followers(Clients) happy make sure their product can work with the previous generation of this product. Windows does that and even Apple specially with Iphones. Sony tried it at the very beggining of PS3 production then instead of improving the product with new feaures, these guys downgraded the PS3. Result the new generation of PS3 only feature according to me is that it doesn't heat quickly. Except that this is just a gaming machine on the market with the main purpose to rip us. What I understand is that PS3 is all about softwares and this make it easy for Sony to provide us with an upgrade that allow us to play our PS2 games on the PS3. Blueray machines plays DVD. we are getting ride of our old dvd's not because our Bluray's can't play them but because of the space. Why do Sony doesn't do that? The answer is clear they want to rip us.

I suggest that unless Sony provide us with this upgrade, we stop buying their products. I have no intention to keep wasting hardly earned money just because of a company greed.

Pass the word guys and let us see what Sony will do with this.

Thank for all of you who will understand this as I do.

Re: PS3 compatibility

Nope!

I bought the PS3 as a gaming console as  I did with the 360, Wii and all the consoles before them!

Guess what?  It does what i want and need it to do!

Use a PC for anything elese

Below is a Signature

Sony are stabbing their loyal family customers in the back - We have 3 PS3s and 3 PSPs all on the same IP address and all registered with Sony. Why can't we use them at the same time anymore?

Re: PS3 compatibility

I don't even know what he's on about when going off onto one about us getting rid of DVD's because of space and not because the Bluray player doesn't play them.

Another weird rant that was news a few years back by some strange person who lives in the past.

Re: PS3 compatibility

Why buy a closed system if you want complete compatibility with everything?

Re: PS3 compatibility

Not compatibility with everything but with its own previous product. This is one of the most importatn aspect of loyalty-I mean having the intention to keep most of the regular customers satisfied. By the way I understand that some of us are enough loaded to own a cinema room in their Haciendas. What about people with less space? Should we keep all our old machines just because of compatibility issues?

BC is/was good, but why moan about at this stage in the game?

Re: PS3 compatibility

To be honest I haven't used my ps1 or ps2 since I bought my ps3. The games don't seem as good as they did.

Re: PS3 compatibility

[ Edited ]

Sony decided to cut manufacturing costs and make PS3 more affordable by taking the BC enabling hardware chips out. It's not like the majority of consumers need that feature. Software only emulation of PS2 games on PS3 is very hard - memory being one of the issues. You need a relatively powerful PC to run a fluid emulation of PS2 or Gamecube games and PS3 is pretty old tech by now.
