Re: PS3 compatibility

hey hey

am I the only one sitting here thinking that the op is living on another planet.

when the PS3 was launched it had backwards compatibility. The early adopters for pretty much any console are usually pre generation owners so PS2 owners who upgraded to a ps3 had everything their hearts desired with the added benefit of a blu ray player.

sony took a wise decision in removing the backwards compatibility as those late to the game are usually new console owners, new generation gamers or those waiting for a cheaper price.

check out some of the PS2 games on the store if your really that desperate for some retro love or find a cheap ps2 in CEX/ebay if you got games you wanna play.

if you had/have ps2 games.. where is your ps2 now ?

Re: PS3 compatibility

I still find the lack of PS2 BC annoying, as many of the PS2 JRPGs are still noticeable better than the PS3 JRPGs.

I just hope the PS4 will have a decent emulated PS2 BC, as the PS3 isn't powerful enough to emulate a PS2 properly (except for the less demanding games but they are still quirky and not 100% as seen in the recent PSN re-releases).

All signatures sucks, especially those with images in them.

Re: PS3 compatibility

The answer is then if you want to play ps2 games then buy a 2nd hand ps2. You can pick up a phat ps2 for about £10 these days. Hardly expensive.

Re: PS3 compatibility

I just don't understand why folks want to re-hash this old complaint..... I had a 60gb PS3 and once there was enough games to play I never used it for PS2 games.....
