PS3 missing stuff?

Hi.

I got my PS3 replaced by GAME a few months back because it had an hardware failure, it's a preowned 80GB Fat-style PS3 and I haven't really used it since I got it back.

Anyway, my girlfriend recently got Lovefilm unlimited and I decided it'll be a good idea to use it on my PS3. So I got on, and notice I can't find LoveFilm anywhere on the XMB and I can't find ITV, 4OD or even iPlayer? My PS3 appears to be missing alot of features I use most.

It's connected via ethernet, and updated to the latest firmware.

Anyone got any idea why? I really wanna watch a film on LoveFilm :smileysad:

Sony are stabbing their loyal family customers in the back - We have 3 PS3s and 3 PSPs all on the same IP address and all registered with Sony. Why can't we use them at the same time anymore?

Yeah it's a known problem. To solve it do the following,

Load up the store and go to the video store.

Look at any video but make sure you go though to the description.

Go back to the XMB

There should be a new TV icon on the XMB with an icon called my channels.

Select the players you want from my channels and instill them.

Give it a go and see if it works!

Re: PS3 missing stuff?

It's not. I only have four things there...

BD Data, Video Editor, PSN Store and a Media Server search

Thats the Video Tab on the XMB and not the TV TAB

Do what the guy below my last post says.

Re: PS3 missing stuff?

If your PS3 serial number ends in CECH04 then it is an EU PS3 and thus the iplayer icon is not available (allegedly there will be a fix for this soon). If your PS3 serial number ends in CECH03 then it is a UK PS3 and the iplayer icon should be available.

I just checked, and mine is a 04 - should I contact game and demand a replacement? as this is clearly not right :smileysad:

Re: PS3 missing stuff?

No.

Basically the XMB just needs to be refreshed in some way. Give  these a go:-

1. Download and install PlayStation Home.

2. Try going into the video store, viewing a video and that exiting out.

3. Create a new user on your console (from the user list on the left hand side of the XMB), log in to it. Then turn your console off and on again and log into your original user.

4. Try deleting the cookies and cache from the internet browser.

If none of those work then give Technical Support a ring on 08447360595

Re: PS3 missing stuff?

I found going into the playstation network, searching lovefilm, downloading it, then restarting the ps3 worked for me :smileyhappy:
