Hi there, fixed the YLOD no problems, however I booted up my ps3 today and found all my files such as music, pictures all my downloaded games like demos, bf1943 etc. I noticed my blu ray drive wasn't detected via the blue light but its because the ribbon clip broke. I know a way to fix that so its not my main concern.

As I was saying I can view photos and play music and trophies that hadn't been synchronized were still there however I went to test a game and the screen went black and wouldn't play the game and seemed to have froze. I have to hard shutdown.

Can anyone tell me what may be the problem and what I need to fix it?

Um, why would I buy another price of *****?

This is my second return, paid 130£ for it and 3 months warranty (Scamming *****). I get round to diy fix. I fix the ylod but now it won't read disks when everyone else who fixed there's works perfectly. Out of everyone in the world it happened to me. Hell my ps2 still works, hell my ps1 still works.

Scamming ***** and everyone knows it.

Could it not be that the PS3 is attempting to display the game in an unsupported resolution (1080p perhaps?)

Have you tried resetting the display settings?

well your drives either not connected right or its broken

instead of paying for a refurb u should add the extra £20 - £30 and buy a new slim as the refurbs are useless 99% of the time plus u get 12 months warranty and not 3

more than likely the full drive , u would need to buy a new unit and fit it into your ps3
