hello ,  i recently had an incident on PSN , And the guy was being racist to me saying KKK where coming etc..

so a while ago he said he was on holiday so he said keep his account safe , and he left me the email and password , i never stole it i kept it for 2 weeks till he came back ,

and i gave it back to him.

haven't spoke to him for awhile and when i joined his session on MW2 somehow he had found out i was black and was saying KKK are coming and if was defenately to me.

so i remembered i had looked after his account , so i changed Sign in ID and Password

i said i would give it back if you stop being racist and say sorry , not once did he do that so i blocked the new acc he made (had his normal acc for 42 hours) . next day i can't sign in to PSN with error 8002A227 , he messages me on a new acc before hand  saying ' ha your getting banned off PSN you black F*****'

i haven't rang up sony yet , i haven't had time , i had no detail of my ban in email ,

apparently he rang up sony and claimed i 'password scammed him' and i have no idea when my ban ends , i stole no money there was no credit card details on acc

so how long is my ban and this is my first ban

but will sony listen to me if i say i did it because he was  being racist to me ?

The sheer lack of any kind of common sense these days amazes me.

Well bottom line is you changed somebody's account details without their knowledge, so no matter whow you got their account detail your the one caught with a smoking gun in your hand.

What you should have done was report  their verbal abuse via the PSN grief reporting service and that would have been a end to it.

As for the ban length check your emails.

isnt that what greif reporting was invented for i think u r screwed u should have reported him instead of messing his account up mate u might have to grovel

I Actually did report him but he didn't get banned because i have this app on my iphone its called MyPSN and i shows friends , trophies etc and he was online today nad i reported him like 2/3 days ago

lol I never use the grief reporting, or change peoples passwords lol it's just another person in the world being an idiot. I just block them from my console. It's hardly going to stop them being racist in life by getting a ban for a few weeks from a playstation lol not worth the agro.

Error Code: 8002a227 - 30 day ban from Sony Playstation Security Department. The last 3digits state the offence in question (227). So you have been banned for Extreme/Racial/Derogatory Language whilst using the PSN.

That is nothing you can do, except for you to understand the meaning of common sense, If he was annoying or being racist to you, all you had to do was report him.

Although he may have been a racist scumbag towards you, you still do not have any right to change his account and certainly not to lock him out of it and then "blackmail" him out of it, yes that is essentially what you did, and the last i heard blackmail is a criminal offence, even though its simply a matter of degree it is still an offence..

Like someone else said already 'the lack of common sense these days astounds me', well that is true your case in point.

While i would be sympathetic towards your statment and possible hurt feelings, whatever standing you had was thrown away when you changed his account detail and then denied him access to it.

Don't forget to inform Sony that he was being racist.
