I have been using Turtle beach PX21 headset for a year now but recently I can't hear chat properly during game play.  I have tested the headset as per Turtle Beach technical support by testing it using a PC and there is nothing wrong with the headset and splitter cable.  The sound is loud and clear.

My question is to PS3 Technical Support what can I do to improve chat settings as I suspect the issue is PS3.  Is it the software upgrade? the problem started 5-6 weeks ago.  Game sounds works fine, but chat is very faint.  I have tried my headset with 2 different PS3 console but the result is same that I hardly hear my y friends during or outside game play.

How have you tested the USB audio input socket so far.

Game audio is provided buy the red and white phono thats a different feed than Voice chat...

what happens when you use the mic feed back option on PS3 with then game audio turned off. but mic turned all the way up.

Thank you for your reply but am soirry I don't understand the question fully.

I have tested the headset with turtlebeach support and the support person explain that USB is for chat and splitter cable with red and white is for game sound.

Can hear game sound clearly.

Chat volume is up to 5 and game sound is on minimum in PS3 audio setting.

Go into accessories 

and select audio devices.

Select audio out put device to Turtle beach 

Turn the Game audio down to zero on headset.

Turn mic up to setting 2 on PS3.

Turn mic setting on headset to max. 

Now speak into MIc , the audio. should now come though headset speakers on a delay and make you deaf.

Swap over USB ports and repeat. if it failed.

If that still fails remove all over USB devices ( Every thing yes even devices charging ) and repeat.

Hope your now deaf

Followed the instructions and few times and it didn't work.  very faint sound from headset :-(

When your in the audio decice section and you have chose the turtle beach for input and output chat, turn the setting at the top up to 5 and speak into the mic.... you should be able to hear yourself

well i have this issue every time i put the usb end of my turtlebeach xp 21 into my ps3 the headphones turn off and on constantly how do i fix it or what can i do
