They would have to release PS2 games on the store though since retail game stores are getting rid of all of their PS2 section also since it's been 10 years since the PS2 came out so SONY need to discontinue it so they stand by their 10 year life cycle.

None HD or re-masted games would sell like hot cakes of PSN if BWC came back.

The european PS3 (PAL) were BWC via emulation anyway they took out the dedicated chip that the US and Japan had to save money.

But it would be a great money maker for sony and a no brainer realy,

I think ill wait, not because of price, more to do with the support it will come with, there is clear distinction  between game developers and their favoured platform.  At this point in time I do not think there is clear advancement in tech to warrant the PS4.

3d appears very geeky I for one wont sit with silly glasses like I was role playing Tron.  As for motion control I think the 360 has the edge on this tech for now, there is clear improvement here just your hands and voice will do nicely.  The Ps3 network has come along greatly and compares well with xbox live.  However I do think there will be a move for paid only service with PS4.  As for a release who knows.  Also gaming habits are changing more and more and new markets are using their phone or social network to game, so some thought will have to given here as this eats into any of the big 3 profits. Indeed the need for a disk to the customer would be top of all the platforms wish list (DLC only)!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pal and the 80GB US/jap PS3 still had the GPU in them from the PS2 and the emotion engine (CPU) was emulated. The first PS3s to come out had both GPU and CPU in them. They called it software but it never really was, thats why its not in them all now.

until people stop looking back at the PS2 I don't see why a PS4 would be on the cards.... you can see how sketchy some of these game slook on the PS3, can you imagine how shoddy they will be on 8th Gen consoles?
