Sony have one of the best customer services i have ever used. The problem i had with my PS3 is that it was not recognizeing and discs i put in to it so i was unable to play games, cds and dvds e.t.c. I sent sony an email regarding the problem i had and they were very apoligetic and gave me a number (08705 99 88 77) to phone which i did and was put on hold for about 10 minutes which was reasonable considering how big sony is and then spoke to an advisor and the end result was that i would be sent a new PS3 because of the problem with the PS3 not recognizeing the discs i inserted. About TWO days later i exchanged my faulty PS3 for another working one and i was impressed that TWO days after phoneing sony the problem was resolved and they delivered another PS3 to my door.

I have the 80Gb model, will they replace it like for like, or will I end up with a 40 Gb version? Dont want to lose the ability to play PS2!!!

If its not a UK machine, they wont touch it (even if you offer to pay for repair)

So basically, seeing as the 80GB isnt available in the UK, you're screwed

Sorry it's not mine and I got it wrong ..... it is in fact the 60Gb version (my nephews!), it's UK so will he get a 60Gb model replacement?

Is there any chance of my PS3 replacement being delivered in the afternoon? It's just it is 12:15 now and I was expecting it today but still havn't recived it.

i must admit, i'm well impressed with sony support. i've had the same problem with discs not being recognised so i called support & straight away they said they'd send out a new one on wednesday! do i just copy my game saves via usb now & what about game updates? some of these were quite large, like the pes update. can these be backed up? and browser bookmarks?

I have a American 60GB PS3 with the Emulation Hardware Chip, it was manufactured January 2007
My ps3 has recently broke by not showing any video output or sound output on a couple of different tv's. I've tried all the methods, soft resetting by holding the power button and hearing the 3 beeps, trying different output cables, component, composite and HDMI. and nothing happens.

I did buy a two year warranty from walmart

I was wondering, can my ps3 get repaired, or will i get my ps3 replaced, if so, is it likely that it wont have the Emulation Hardware chip?

I had a problem with my 60GB PS3, I rang Sony it took a few calls to get through, I got told I will have to exchange it for a refurbished 60GB. Got delivered in a few days and it great. Sony have a great Customer Services and I am thankful of how they treated me

On the back of your PS3 there should be a white strip/sticker and it should be on there
