Guys, this number is the helpline but it is not Sony's helpdesk, it is outsourced to another company that manages all UK and EIRE helpdesk calls relating to Playstation, PS2, PS3 and PSP. I should know, I work for them as a Project Manager, there based in Watford. Just thought I'd point out that the service isn't Sony, there service is rubbish, and they know it, it's why they outsourced it

Hmmm... If you actually do work for them I think you are a little naive... The vast majority of companies "outsource" various aspects of their support structures to other companies to offer the best service available. Personally I don't have any problem with this kind of practice as long as it doesn't affect my experience.

In respect to your comments about the sony helpdesk, I have always found their support and advice top notch (even when I did have a really stupid question ). I don't think that you are giving a pretty one-sided and ill informed perspective on this issue...

i've ALWAY's reported any fault i've encountered to sony, especially with the PS3, as its new, and i feel its my duty as a PS3 owner to do so has anyone had probs with the browser crashing, and loosing contact with web pages (constant refreshing req)?

Nice Customer service so far. Rang them up because of my controller being a problem(left stick squeeking),asked for my ps3 serial number and address. 5mins i was on the phone,thats with the options at the start and on hold for about 20 seconds. anyway, told me to send the controller so they can fix/ give me a new controller. Said it would take a week. I'll report back on how good the rest of the service is.

lol i got it by fluke somewhere ages ago and saved it...iv been phonin constantly lately thanks to problems with my wifi...there not very helpfull

Rang from Ireland there cos my ps3 stopped working after I downloaded update 1.82,the phone beeped and I could hear two guys talking,so I said 'hello',got no reply and the two guys continued talking about headsets.so I hung up and rang back and the same thing happened.

Well they tried to help me with my PS3 on my 32" Samsung but no avail so I phoned up samsung and no avail so Samsung enigineer is coming to find out what is wrong
